New SQL Titles (2019)

The current titles include:

XAMPP Downloads (Legacy)

My new SQL and MySQL titles for 2019 no longer use XAMPP. Please follow the instructions in SQL Essential Training to install SQLiteStudio, or in MySQL Installation and Configuration to install and configure the MySQL Server and Workbench on your workstation.

If you are taking one of my SQL courses that requires XAMPP please understand that these courses are no longer supported. Please use the latest version of the course referenced above. This section is here for legacy purposes only.

These are the last versions of XAMPP used for my courses. They are out of date and no longer supported.

More explanation

Before 2019, all of my SQL courses, used the XAMPP package (from Apache Friends) for running the examples. You may learn more about XAMPP at the Apache Friends web site.

The good folks at Apache Friends update their packages frequently, and normally this would be a good thing. There have, however, been two unfortunate side effects of this otherwise exemplary behavior: 1) Some releases have introduced bugs that effect the lessons in the courses; and 2) The installation procedure has changed such that it becomes hard to follow the installation lessons.

Eventually the installation process for the XAMPP package became unmanageable for this learning environment and I switched to SQLiteStudio for SQL Essential Training and MySQL Workbench for the MySQL titles.
